Queensland state government sponsorship has three separate pathways depending on whether the visa applicant is:

1) In Australia and living in Queensland
2) Outside of Australia
3) Visa applicants that hold a Queensland Postgraduate qualification (Master or PhD)
BSMQ criteria requires you to satisfy specialisation or other requirements for certain occupations.
Especially, Computer and Information Technology (IT) related occupations are required minimum post-qualification work experience of 3 years (including 6 months in Queensland). However, Certain exemptions to this requirement may apply to Queensland Postgraduates (Alumni).
I’m a Master’s or PhD Alumni of a Queensland University
Queensland is seeking to attract highly skilled and employable international postgraduate alumni, in target occupations which are difficult to fill from the local labour market.
Queensland makes nominations for eligible Master’s and PhD graduates under the Skilled Nomination (Permanent) visa (subclass 190), which allows you to live and work in Queensland permanently.
(*To be eligible for Queensland nomination, you must meet both Australian Department of Home Affairs (HA) criteria and Business and Skilled Migration Queensland (BSMQ) criteria)
Graduates of a Queensland Masters degree (BSMQ Criteria)
- Masters degree at a Queensland-based institution
- Graduated in the last two years (This qualification must be related to your nominated occupation)
- Current full-time employment (min. 35 hours p/w)
- Job offer : Minimum of 12 months (min. 35 hours p/w)
